I've used Rufus to create a bootable FreeDos USB stick that boots reliably when UEFI/Legacy Boot is =Both, Legacy first, CMS=Off. I do this all with AC power applied as the resuls seem intermittent under battery power after a while of use. It fails shortly after the circling dots appear as the T430S reboots.ģ. ![]() I have created WIN10 install bootable USB with the MS creator ap. The USB sticks are not damaged and the sticks installed in a Lenovo x220 will get me into a live session of Mint.Ģ. The UEFI and Legacy install screens have different fonts so I always can tell which mode I am in. Note the USB stick is recognized, and I can get to the install screen, for example of Mint or Ubuntu. ![]() Preinstalled OS License: Win8 Pro DPK TPG My Lenovo UEFI Bios Version: G7ET92WW (2.52) I have gone through making sure Secure Boot is disabled( I get no where with it enabled) and the various combinations of the setup options: I have for the last two weeks been fighting to get Linux Mint in a Live mode to check the machine out, or any OS loaded (Win10 for example onto a new SSD. ![]() I recently bought a Lenovo T430S that came without a hard disk.
